The uniLIGHT tow winches of the new generation 3 are another milestone for aerotow in model flying. With the winches, it is possible to experience towing operations extremely comfortably and safe in everyday life. After the glider has been released, the tow rope can be retrieved completely automatical, allowing for a safe flight and carefree landing. The intelligent controlled automatic roll-up allows numerous possibilities for beginners and professionals. The functionality, electronics and software of all models are completely identical, the only difference is the installation size, weight, winding space, rigidity and also different areas of application.

The MEDIUM standard version for ambitious towing, universal use up to +25kg ropes with a thickness of 1mm to 1.5mm.

The winches consist of CNC machined aluminum parts and milled fiber composite panels. This enables us to achieve the lowest weight with the highest strength. It is powered by a lightweight, brushless motor with a non-locking belt drive. With a slip clutch, operation as an electric spring is therefore also possible. The motor output stage, the entire control electronics and the servo for the emergency release are already integrated. Each winch comes with a powerful uniLIGTH.at flashing light, with which the operating status can be seen from the ground. Each winch can be configured via the uniLIGHT PLUS interface and our uniLIGHT.DESK in Windows and Android.

When delivered, the winch is universally operated manually, so towing, winding and emergencyrelease are possible. Further intelligent functions can then be activated in the DESK. To do this, the rope must first be taught in, which means that the rope length is saved. Numerous functions are only then fully available, here are the core systems:

• The intelligent release only allows the rope to be released when it is almost fully unrolled. This means that accidental ejection on the ground cannot occur.
• Dynamic tow with electric spring function can be set at a specific rope length. So the glider is only pulled up to this rope length and then gently stopped.
• Manual, intelligent rewind can be activated at any time in tow if the rope is slack. As long as there is movement on the rope, the function remains active; when it is movingor the rope is pulled out, it is switched off automatically.
• The remainingrope function influences how much rope is actually pulled in, the value can be set as desired and can be adapted to the towing model.
• The remainingrope take-up can automatically pull in the remaining rope when the model is completely stationary on the ground.
• Freely configurable winding speeds in all operating modes
• All parameters can be optimized manually or set automatically after the learning process
• Galvanically isolated system with master-slave switch-off does not require its own switch for the power supply
• Can be operated via just one servo channel, 2S LiPo/LiIon as supply voltage
• Low voltage control protects the battery, but still allows emergency release of the rope as a classic tow
